Hiyarin Privacy Policy

K-Cubed Lab (the "Developer"), the developer of "Hiyarin" (the "App"), handles user information as follows. If there is any difference between this English version and the Japanese version, the Japanese version prevails.
1. Information we use and why

- While you have monitoring turned on, the App collects location even when it is closed (in the background), and shows a persistent notification. Stopping monitoring stops location collection.
- The App does not store location history or driving routes.
- Location is never used for advertising or analytics, and is never provided to third parties, including ad networks.
2. Communication with external services
To display maps, the App loads map tiles from the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (GSI) server (cyberjapandata.gsi.go.jp). As with any network request, your device's IP address and requests for the map tiles of the area being displayed are sent to GSI. Your location itself is not sent.
Accident data is created by the Developer by processing the National Police Agency's open traffic-accident statistics. It is bundled with the App and read without any network communication.
3. Advertising
The App shows ads using Google AdMob, an advertising service provided by Google LLC (no ads are shown while monitoring). AdMob may collect the following to serve and measure ads and prevent fraud:
- Advertising ID (Android advertising ID)
- Device and app information (model, OS, language, etc.) and IP address
- Records of ad impressions and taps
The App does not pass location to AdMob, although an approximate region may be inferred from your IP address. You can delete or reset your advertising ID in your device settings (Google settings > Ads). See Google's policy for how Google handles information.
4. Sharing with third parties
Except for the ad delivery above and where required by law, the Developer does not share user information with third parties. The Developer does not collect user information, so none is stored on the Developer's servers.
5. Deleting information
App settings and the map cache are stored only on your device and are deleted when you uninstall the App. You can also clear the map cache from the settings screen.
6. Changes
Any changes to this policy will be published on this page. If the information we handle changes, we will update this page in advance.
